Faith In Action - Washington County, PA

What is the Faith in Action Program?

We link the seniors and frail elderly of Washington County with community activities, social services and health care.

Our aim is to enable them to live with dignity and independence in their own home, enjoy effective, loving relationships with their families, and experience an improved quality of live.

Who is Eligible?

Seniors and frail elderly of Washington County, Pennsylvania.

This program's effectiveness depends on congregations of many faiths and interested volunteers choosing this as a way of expressing service to their own communities, Volunteers recruited from congregations and other entities can provide:

• Transportation
• Shopping for home-bound elderly
• Respite time for caregivers living in the home
• Reading or helping to pay bills
• Friendly visiting
• Telephone reassurance
• Meal preparation
• Light housekeeping
• Minor household repairs
• Linkage to available services
• Spirituality nurturing
