Our Money is Green Campaign: Travis Gongaware
The Our Money is Green movement highlights one of the big events taking place here at TRIPIL for the summer of 2011. This exclusive advocacy effort introduces businesses in Washington, Fayette and Greene Counties to the amazing spending influence consumers living with disabilities hold. The remarkable power is in the receipts and consumers, staff and family members of people who are disabled gathered together their receipts to show the power.
Our Money is Green started on May 1st, and the event will extend through July 31st. The main focus of this effort is to educate to the business community in these three counties that people living with disabilities do have spending ability and influence.
The intent of “Our Money is Green”, a TRIPIL unique project is to challenge businesses on their accessibility to attract consumers with disabilities to their establishments.
Accessibility is a very important model in the disability community as well as the business community. Our Money is Green is equally important because it finds the importance of accessibility to the business community to attract the disability consumer. The lack of accessibility to a business hampers both the consumer and the business owner; it hinders the potential of earning the consumer sales to generate revenue for business owners.
