Youth Participate in Wellness Ray Pittman July 5, 2011**
The youth group at TRIPIL is participating in the Wellness Program at TRIPIL. Each youth group member will be working toward the goal of reaching a 500 pound challenge to promote wellness with a disability at TRIPIL’s gym.
This program challenges and engages young men and women with disabilities to work out in TRIPIL’s gym to stay fit. The program goals are for each of the youth members to lift a set amount of weights and participate in activities that promote wellness. TRIPIL’s wellness coordinator charts the number of pounds lifted by each member. After the projected goal of 500 pounds is calculated and logged as a total number obtained, then the youth member will receive a certificate of accomplishment. TRIPIL hopes to engage more youth in this event at our Wellness Center.
Youth events can be found on TRIPIL’s website. Click the calendar or go to this link. http://www.tripil.com/calendar Youth Participate in TRIPIL Activities
Youth who attend the Kids Café learn how to be a leader by role playing. Many activities are featured such as being a King, Queen, President, Czar, Ship Captain, or General through role playing.
The youth who attend develop a goal, such as to end world hunger or end negative stereotypes. Through their goals they will learn to navigate through the internet for social, education, and entertainment purposes.
At the completion of this program a booklet will be given featuring them as a leader and showcasing the positive changes they made during this activity. |
