PA OVR: Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (BVRS) The Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation Services provides vocational rehabilitation services to help persons with disabilities prepare for, obtain, or maintain employment. OVR provides a wide range of services to eligible applicants. Some services can help an individual overcome or lessen his/her disability; others can directly help an individual prepare for a career. The services an individual receives will be arranged to meet his/her individual needs. Not everyone will need, or receive, every service. OVR services include: Diagnostic Services, Vocational Evaluation; Counseling; Training; Restoration Services; Placement Services; Placement Assistance; Assistive Technology; and Supportive Services.

Parent to Parent of Pennsylvania Parent to Parent of Pennsylvania’s mission is to link families of children and adults with disabilities or special needs together for purposes of support and information. Peer Supporters (mentors) volunteer to offer phone support for physical disabilities, developmental disabilities, special health care needs, behavioral/mental health concerns, foster care or adoption, educational issues or any other additional concerns that the family may need support for. PaTTAN PaTTAn supports the efforts of the Bureau of Special Education and its initiatives to build the capacity of local education agencies to provide appropriate services to students who receive special education services. Early Intervention is part of the statewide system that provides training and technical assistance to MAWA agencies, early intervention providers, school districts, parents, and educators across Pennsylvania. Early Intervention focuses its support on both the 0-2 system (Department of Public Welfare) and the 3-5 system (Pennsylvania Department of Education).
PEAL Center The PEAL Center is an organization of parents and professionals. PEAL is a Parent Training and Information Center (PTI) serving families in Western and Central PA. As the PTI funded by OSEP in this region we assist with educational questions and issues through trainings, electronic and print resources, and one on the advising. The Family to Family Health Information Center (F2FHIC) at the PEAL Center is funded by the US Department of Health and serves families statewide across Pennsylvania. The F2F at the PEAL Center provides information and training on healthcare issues, insurance, and community services.
Pennsylvania Initiative on Assistive Technology (PIAT) PIAT is a federally-funded, statewide program which assures a system of easy access to AT for Pennsylvanians with disabilities and their families. PIAT’s activities, offered at no cost, include the AT Lending Library, device demonstrations, device reutilization, administration of the Telecommunication Device Distribution Program (TDDP), and AT trainings, presentations, exhibits and other public awareness activities. PIAT serves all Pennsylvanians, regardless of age, disability, or place of residence.
