On Thursday, October 27, 2005, Tri-County Patriots for Independent Living opened its Charleroi office site.

There are two offices located in the Charleroi area... One is a training location for Direct Care Workers and the other is a TRIPIL Branch Office.

Services Offered In This Office:

This office offers 5 core services to community members with disabilities. They include:

In 2007, TRIPIL's Charleroi office expanded to include a training site on McKean Avenue. This site is primarily utilized by our sister agency, TRIPIL Services, to train individuals to be direct care workers.

Housing Training
TRIPIL will be holding a housing training on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 from 10 am-3 pm at TRIPIL's Washington office, 69 East Beau Street, Washington, PA 15301.

Some of the topics that will be covered include;
- Low income housing tax credits in our area
- How are HOME monies being spent?
- How can our ConPlans be beefed up to help our consumers?
- Are the CDBG funds being used properly?
- Develop a strategy for our areas of the state.

Free Kids' Cafe - Computer Classes
TRIPIL will be hosting a free Kids' Cafe in our Charleroi office:

There will be 2 sessions. The schedule is as follows:

Session 1
Ages 7- 15 years
Classes will be held on:
June 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 26
From 4:30 - 6:00 pm

Ages 16-21 years
Classes will be held on:
June 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25, 26
From 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Session 2

Ages 7-15 years
Classes will be held on:
July 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, 17
From 4:30 - 6 pm

Ages 16-21 years
Classes will be held on:
July 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, 16, 17
From 6:00 - 7:30 pm

Certificates of completion for all kids participating in the Kids' Cafe 2008 will be handed out at TRIPIL's Annual Meeting. You will receive an invitation to this important event.

Free Informational Session
A free information session will be held on medical facilities and the needs of the disability community.
This session will cover:

- American with Disabilities Act
- Tax breaks for barrier removal
- People first language
