Housing Training
TRIPIL will be holding a housing training on Wednesday, August 20, 2008 from 10 am-3 pm at TRIPIL's Washington office, 69 East Beau Street, Washington, PA 15301.

Some of the topics that will be covered include;
            - Low income housing tax credits in our area
            - How are HOME monies being spent?
            - How can our ConPlans be beefed up to help our consumers?
            - Are the CDBG funds being used properly?
            - Develop a strategy for our areas of the state.

The next education issues meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 15th at 2 pm. It will be held in our Washington office.  Do you know what it feels like to be bullied in school?  If you want to help schools really do something to stop bullying, come to the Educational Issues Meeting.

Fair Housing Training
TRIPIL will be hosting a Fair Housing Training on June 24th at 1 pm in our Washington office. Jennifer Sinclair from Legal Aid will be present.

A Training Opportunity from the Education Law Center!!
Learn about new state rules that can help children with disabilities

What:

A Webinar and audio-teleconferenced update on recent State-level developments affecting the educational rights of children with disabilities.

Topics include:
o Revisions to the PA Special Education Regulations (Ch. 14)
o New rules about positive behavior supports, restraints, and police referrals
o New State policies on inter-agency planning for children with behavioral health
  needs and education in partial hospitalization programs
o New rules for inclusion of children with disabilities in vocational education programs

A free information session will be held on medical facilities and the needs of the disability community.

This session will cover:

o Americans with Disabilities Act
o Tax breaks for barrier removal
o People first language

Accessibility & Housing Issues Meetings
TRIPIL will hold 2 issue meetings on Thursday, May 22nd, 2008 at our Washington Office, 69 East Beau Street, Washington, PA  15301.

The Barrier Removal Team will meet at 11 am to discuss accessibility isssues. The goal of the team is to work with code enforcement officers and medical facilities to improve access to the tri-county community. For more information on this meeting, please call and ask for Paula.

The Housing Issues Meeting will be held at 1 pm.  The group will discuss accessible housing and housing for low income individuals. Lora DiDominic from the Fayette County Housing Authority will be there to answer your questions!!  For more information on this meeting, please call and ask for Deb.
